Nevsehir University Avanos Vocational High School was established with the senatus consultum dated the 3rd of March 2009, issued 6th Nevşehir University Avanos Vocational High School the Electronic Communications Technology programme started education in 2009-2010 academic year. Its educational language is Turkish. |
The students who are able to pass all their lessons (equivalent to 120 ECTS in total) and have at least 2. 0 grade point avarage from 4.0 have two- year degree diploma in the field of electronic communications technology. |
Associate degree |
The students graduating from the branches of the vocational high schools which are telecommunication, electric/electronic, ındustrial electronics, shipbuilding electronic and communication, control and instrumentation are able to apply for open admission to “Electronic Communication Technologies” programme of associate degree. The students graduating from the branches except the mentioned fields or high schools can be placed at the programmes they want according to the OSS grades with the additional placement if there is vacancy. For this, the students must take the exam which is the higher education entrance exam (YGS) and held by OSYM and they must take adequate grade from YGS-1. |
The process of recognizing previous study in the higher education institution is still front-end. Therefore recognizing previous study in all the programmes of Nevşehir University is not started completely. However, exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic year for the lessons such as English and Computer in the educational plans of the programmes. The students who think that they have the expected learning output can attend the exams held. The students attending and being succesful in the exam are exempt from the related lesson. |
To have an associate degree in the field of electronic communication, the students must pass all the the compulsory and elective subjects which are neccesssary to be taken and have at least 2. 0 grade point avarage from 4.0. |

The students are subject to a mid-term exam and a final exam for each course. The contribution of the mid-term exam (the grades taken from homeworks, laboratory exams, quizzes can be added to the midterm exam ) to the final grade is 40 percent and the contribution of the final exam to the final grade is 60 percent. All the exams are evaluated from 100 points. There is a compulsory for the students to take at least 45 points from the final exam. The students who are able to take one of the letter grades which are AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are thought to be succesful in that course. DC and DD are the grades which are thought to be succesful conditionally. The average grade of the students who take DD or DC from one of the courses must be at least 2.0. |
