Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the essential concepts of law, enabling them to grasp the role of law in human societies. They will also have become acquainted with the following topics: sources of law, various systems of law (Roman law, civil law and Islamic law) and the basic concepts of human rights. Finally, students will have developed the basic skills for legal analysis, legal research and problem solving. They will be acquainted with the following topics: theories of legal interpretations, the main branches of law, recent developments in the field of human rights and the judicial mechanism in the Turkish legal system.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can define the basic concepts related to Law. PO-15 Comprehend legal, social and moral responsibilities of business life. Will have a basic knowledge of the areas of obligations law, negotiable instruments law, business concerns law, tax law, civil law, labor and social security law.
PO-18 Have the ability to work with disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams; to be open to change and innovation, to be entrepreneur, to gain life-long learning; to have leadership qualities and to make analytical communication with managers and specialists in other fields.

This course focus on the necessity of living in society, social behavior rules, the analysis of law rules and systems, the sources of positive law, the distinction between private & public law, the lawful relations & rights, and finally the methods to save rights.
