Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to gain knowledge and skills that can contribute to preventive security services by examining the crime phenomenon and criminal identity.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can understand about the issue of criminology and the importance of criminology in private security. PO-3 He/She provides security and protection services for persons, institutions and organizations on the basis of authority, duties and responsibilities on legal and institutional basis.
PO-2 He/She creates effective security structures by conducting risk analyzes for individuals, institutions and organizations.
PO-5 He/She fulfills the business and operations that can ensure the satisfaction of the internal and external customers in the course of the presentation of security and protection services.
PO-6 He/She successfully manages the squads, crowds, groups and masses in the course of presenting security and protection services.
Examination
LO-2 can learn the concepts of deviant behavior and fear of crime. PO-3 He/She provides security and protection services for persons, institutions and organizations on the basis of authority, duties and responsibilities on legal and institutional basis.

Course Contents
Introduction to the science of criminology, the subject and importance of criminology, basic concepts related to criminology, the relationship of criminology with other sciences, the historical development of criminology, the concept of crime, the crime theories in criminology, the reasons that affect the criminality, research methods in criminology, black numbers in crime, crimes and perpetrators, victimology and Prevention of crime issues constitute the content of this course.
