Objectives of the Course
To explain the Ottoman history with social life and economic developments and regressions in addition to political axis.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 able to explain the Ottoman state looks at the society PO-1 able to conceptualize historical events and phenomenons with scientific methods and techniques by expert appraisal.
PO-2 able to use use of interdisciplinary approaches during this study
PO-3 able to define the information acquired at the level of expertise, evaluate critically and analyze the information obtained
PO-4 able to access to historical datas, interpret these datas and assess the reliability and validity of these datas.
Examination
LO-2 able to explain the social and economic relations in the Ottoman society. PO-1 able to conceptualize historical events and phenomenons with scientific methods and techniques by expert appraisal.

Course Contents
The basic systems of the state and the society beginning from the founding of the Ottoman State to the eighteenth century, Timar order, land management system, population in the Ottomans, population guesses, settlement policy in the Ottomans, settlement of the tribes; social and economic sides of the conquests; village and the villager; Production types in the Ottomans; Ottoman city model, the differences between the urban and rural; farmer and the artisan; Trade in the Ottomans, other states with commercial connections; Big cities and their supplies; bi economic zones of the Ottoman Empire; transportation and routes in the Ottomans etc.
