Objectives of the Course | |||||
The aim of this course is to clarify for students the notion and object of comparative politics and then analyse comparatively some of the main political systems. These include democratic and nondemocratic, regimes, or federal/unitary states. The students are encouraged to focus on specific elements, such as legislative, utive and judiciary powers, electoral and party systems, interest groups, and the relations between states, the media and the economy. |

Comparison method, political regimes and systems, democracy, Majoritarian (Britain) and Consociational (the Netherlands, Belgium) Democracy types, Presidential (USA) and Semi-Presidential (France) Regime, Authoritarian Regimes; Federal, Confederal and Unitary State. | ||
