Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to gain knowledge and skills related to the basic concepts of cell cycle and apoptosis, genetic and molecular processes.

Mitosis and meiosis, cell cycle stages, growth factors and mitosis control enzymes, cell cycle control points, cyclin and cyclin dependent kinases, cell cycle inhibitors, apoptosis and its history, differences between apoptosis and necrosis, role of mitochondria in apoptosis, caspases bcl-2 family, apoptotic pathways: exogenous and intrinsic pathways, methods used to describe apoptosis
