Objectives of the Course
The aim of this lesson is to provide basic information about the diagnosis of microorganisms by using staining, culture, serology and molecular methods and disinfection and sterilization in microbiology laboratory.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can implements and apply the methods used in the period from receipt of the clinical specimens up to identification of the causative agent PO-3 Ability to identify problems in Molecular Biology and genetics, to establish hypotheses for solving problems and to be able to solve hypothesis using various observational and experimental methods
PO-9 Recognizes and explains the molecular biology and genetics of the problems of other disciplines

LO-2 can determine the microorganisms by using basic molecular diagnostic techniques. PO-2 Have information about current topics in molecular biology and genetics
PO-11 Explains the basic functions of scientific processes, critically discusses and solves problems using appropriate statistical and computational methods, chooses contemporary experimental and theoretical approaches that will ultimately lead to the solution of molecular biology and genetic research problems

Course Contents
In this course, disinfection-sterilization methods and their effective mechanisms, microbiological staining, culture methods, serological and molecular tests, and evoluation of test results are introduced.
