Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide the contribution of the world mythology to the development of the students' understanding of the world and the development of the perspective of artistic, cultural and touristic attractions.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can explain myth, mythology concepts, function and purpose of myths. PO-1 Have a deeper understanding of tourism and its related fields.
PO-6 Understand, analyze and interpret the cultures, history, religions, and the art of the civilisations that have lived in Turkey.
PO-13 Have awareness of social justice, cultural values and environmental issues.

Course Contents
Introduction to mythology, mythos, epos, logos relation, mythos types and common topics in mythology, Greek mythology, Roman mythology, Turkish shamanism, World shamanism, Babilonian myths, Egyptian myths, Ugarite myths, Jewish myths, Biblical myths, Islamic myths, sample myths: Pandora, the myths of Babel (tufan, Gilgamesh, Adapa, Etana).
