Objectives of the Course
In this course, the basic concepts of political economy will be discussed. The aim of this course is to analyze the production, distribution and consumption of media content with an economic policy approach and to explain how the political approach is applied to media studies.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Students will be able to explain the historical background and difference of the concept of critical political economy in parallel with the development of capitalism. PO-2 Students will be able to describe the concepts, thoughts, cases and problems related to the field and perceive them as multi-dimensional.
PO-4 Students has the technological and theoretical knowledge, equipment and aesthetic awareness about the field.
Examination
LO-2 Students and their media policy framework in Turkey shaped structural changes in media content may interpret the critical political economy approach axis. PO-7 Students will be able to know the change and development processes of media from past to present and transfer what they know to current problems.
Examination
LO-3 Students will have information about media industry and new communication technologies. PO-20 Develop the strategies that define the media, communication and art processes as theoretically.
