Objectives of the Course
To express, evaluate and debate the genetic, environmental and developmental factors of individual's developmental stages to obtain identification. To approach developmental psychology in sociological way. To enhance the studens' scientific point of view.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 is able to explain what is science, basic principles, scientific method and the stages and conduct a reseach accordingly to scientific method. PO-5 5. Can dedicate to improve themselves by keeping abreast of the developments in science, technology and modern topics.
PO-6 6. Can assess and evaluate the data making use of the advanced knowledge and skills that they have acquired in the field, to define and analyze the issues connected with current technological developments finding ways to offer solutions to those issues based on the researched and evidence.
PO-7 7. Can use the modern techniques and devices necessary for the current practices in the field of Sociology.
PO-8 8. Can collaborate both intra- and interdisciplinarily by planning and managing the activities regarding the development of the members subordinate to them.
PO-10 10. Can have the professional and ethical responsibility in the process of the collection, evaluation and implementation of the data in the field of study and publishing the results.

Course Contents
What is science and how it came into being, the scientific method and its stages, experimental method, the meaning of psychology, the importance of psychology and the branches of psychology will be tought. Basics of development, basic principles, heredity and the effect of environment, developmental stages of the childhood, development of the adolescent and moral development will be covered. Historical outlook to the conception of childhood, genetics and heredity, physical and motor development in infants learning, language acquisition, cognitive development, social cognition, gender role, psycho-social, moral development, parents will be covered. And developmental theories will be presented.
