Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide information about the history and basic concepts of human psychology from ancient Greece to the present.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Knows the basic philosophical schools in the field of psychology. PO-1 Knows the basic concepts related to psychology.
PO-14 Has a basic level of knowledge of the fields of social sciences such as philosophy, sociology, anthropology and the fields of science such as biology and neuroscience, and uses this knowledge to develop psychology skills and to follow contemporary scientific publications.
 		Examination
LO-2 Knows the basic philosophical problems in the field of psychology and the explanations brought to these problems. PO-14 Has a basic level of knowledge of the fields of social sciences such as philosophy, sociology, anthropology and the fields of science such as biology and neuroscience, and uses this knowledge to develop psychology skills and to follow contemporary scientific publications.
 		Examination
LO-3 Knows the main philosophical arguments about man throughout history. PO-2 Adapts and transfers the knowledge they have acquired in the field of psychology to other disciplines
PO-14 Has a basic level of knowledge of the fields of social sciences such as philosophy, sociology, anthropology and the fields of science such as biology and neuroscience, and uses this knowledge to develop psychology skills and to follow contemporary scientific publications.

Course Contents
First of all, the basic subjects and concepts about how people were handled in Ancient Greece, Medieval Islamic and Christian Philosophy are discussed. Afterwards, concepts such as human and human psychology, philosophy of mind are introduced in the modern period that started with Descartes. Finally, schools of psychology and philosophical debates about these schools are discussed.
