Objectives of the Course
To teach infection control in restorative dentistry, noncarious tooth lesions, isolation, caries detection methods, caries classification, caries risk assessment and caries prevention in adults.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Understand infection control in restorative dental treatment PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.
PO-15 It is sufficient to raise the oral health of groups, families and individuals in the society to a high level.
Examination
LO-2 Can use isolation and caries diagnosis methods in restorative dental treatment. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.
PO-14 With the awareness of being a physician, it carries out initiatives and practices that prioritize the general health of the society and individuals it serves, including itself, and improve their health status, raise awareness and guide the patient on these issues, apart from dental treatments.
Examination
LO-3 Explain the methods of preventing caries in adults. PO-15 It is sufficient to raise the oral health of groups, families and individuals in the society to a high level.

Course Contents
Infection control in restorative dental treatment, noncarious tooth lesions: etiology, classification and treatment, isolation in restorative dental treatment, caries detection: clinical examination and radiological examination, current approaches in caries classification, caries risk assessment: salivary and diet analysis, caries prevention in adults: caries prevention strategies, caries prevention in adults: fluoride, antimicrobial agents and their applications, caries prevention in adults: caries control restorations, caries prevention in adults: diet control and sugar variables, caries prevention in adults: pit and fissure sealants in adults
