Objectives of the Course
Examination and diagnosis of periodontal tissues with phantom models and slides, and demonstration and application of the use of periodontal instruments.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can define how physician-assistant personnel relations should be. PO-4 Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, and develops evidence-based solution proposals by using knowledge and skills related to contemporary dentistry.
PO-12 It carries out professional practices focused on patient rights and human values, in accordance with ethical rules and professional responsibility awareness.
PO-14 With the awareness of being a physician, it carries out initiatives and practices that prioritize the general health of the society and individuals it serves, including itself, and improve their health status, raise awareness and guide the patient on these issues, apart from dental treatments.

PO-5 As a 'Dentist' who has the ability to work individually, he/she makes decisions regarding treatment by using the relevant diagnostic methods, can take initiative, and expresses his/her professional ideas verbally or in writing, clearly and concisely.

Course Contents
The periodontal examination, the introduction of periodontal tissues, the application of maxillary dental calculus cleaning, the application of mandibular dental calculus cleaning, general repetition of applications, and practical exam.
