Objectives of the Course | |||||
• To gain the ability to approach the function and aesthetics of the maxillofacial system from an orthodontic perspective with prenatal and postnatal growth-development, normal and deviating situations. • Skeletal anomalies and basic analyzes and measurements used in their diagnosis, and to gain the ability to interpret them. • To understand the reasons and solution alternatives of orthodontic problems. |

LO-1 | Can explain preventive orthodontic methods and how these procedures are applied. |
PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life. PO-3 She/he can work in interdisciplinary teams in various branches of dentistry and other medical fields and seeks the opinion or treatment of the necessary specialist for medical and dental treatments beyond her ability. PO-5 As a 'Dentist' who has the ability to work individually, he/she makes decisions regarding treatment by using the relevant diagnostic methods, can take initiative, and expresses his/her professional ideas verbally or in writing, clearly and concisely. PO-10 It makes a differential diagnosis, preliminary diagnosis or definitive diagnosis by correlating clinical and radiological examination and other diagnostic tests, and findings in the patient's history, taking into account the social and ethnic history of the patients. PO-12 It carries out professional practices focused on patient rights and human values, in accordance with ethical rules and professional responsibility awareness. PO-13 It performs preventive dentistry practices in the clinic, as well as participates in community-oriented oral and dental health programs and projects to be planned at local or national level, and when necessary, it acquires adequate equipment and supervises or manages it. PO-15 It is sufficient to raise the oral health of groups, families and individuals in the society to a high level. |

PO-7 He/she develops and implements effective strategies to prevent dental and medical emergencies that he/she may encounter in his/her office and is sufficient to determine the attitude to be applied for treatment in case of these emergencies.
