Objectives of the Course
To introduce the mining activities applied underground and open pit mine, to help them understand the basic principles and the importance of these mining activities in terms of occupational health and safety. Thus, it helps them learn about the risks that may arise in the work carried out in mining workplaces and the precautions to be taken against them. In addition to this, to ensure that they have full knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation in mining works.

LO-1 Basic mining activities and related terminology knows PO-1 Have comprehensive and up-to-date information about workplace environmental factors, working conditions and protection principles.
PO-3 Has the ability to identify the health and safety problems of employees in various sectors, to produce solutions, to develop, implement and evaluate programs by using methods and tools appropriate to the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of occupational health and safety.
PO-8 Understands interdisciplinary interaction on occupational health and safety, participates in teamwork in identifying and solving problems related to the field, and shares information.
PO-10 It introduces technological, social or cultural advances in the field of occupational health and safety.

Occupational health and safety and the importance of occupational safety in mining works, mining works and the general terminology used, open and closed operation in mining and minimum special provisions to be applied, drilling activities, machinery used in mining operations and their features, dust and gas control and ventilation systems in mines, dents, Occupational health and safety legislation in landslides and floods, drilling, blasting and mining workplaces
