Objectives of the Course
This course aims to enable students to determine the causes of work accidents and occupational diseases, to determine the safety precautions in the workplace by gaining knowledge and skills for protection from work accidents and occupational diseases, and to evaluate them with the practices in the workplace by obtaining information about occupational health and occupational safety legislation.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Has knowledge about the concepts, methods and tools that form the basis of the field of occupational health and safety. Follows, interprets and implements the legal regulations on occupational health and safety. PO-1 Uses computer programs, tools and information technologies required for applications in the field.
PO-2 It acts in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting, applying and announcing the results of the data related to the field.
PO-7 When faced with unforeseen situations in the field, it produces solutions by using its basic knowledge.
PO-9 Evaluates the basic level of knowledge and skills acquired in the field with a critical approach

Examination
LO-2 Has knowledge about the dangers of chemicals and makes risk analysis. Has knowledge about machinery, equipment and preservatives. PO-1 Uses computer programs, tools and information technologies required for applications in the field.
PO-2 It acts in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting, applying and announcing the results of the data related to the field.
PO-3 The Person works individually and as a team member, using the basic knowledge she has in the Person Area
PO-6 Interprets and evaluates data by using the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field, defines and analyzes problems and takes part in studies planned for solution.

Course Contents
This course covers the basic concepts of occupational health and safety and historical development concepts; the duties, powers and responsibilities of the workplace doctor and occupational safety specialist in the workplace; risk, danger, primary, secondary, tertiary protection concepts; physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial risks; Occupational health and safety legislation in workplaces and practices in the workplace.
