Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable the student to understand and apply basic laboratory practices and principles.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Apprehend common concepts and make calculations in laboratory work. PO-3 Registers, prepares the test materials and tests under the supervision of responsible physicians.
LO-2 Be familiar with basic laboratory equipment PO-6 Recognizes clinical examination, imaging devices and surgical instruments and supports the veterinarian during the safe use of these devices.
PO-9 Provides requested assistance to veterinarian during clinical examination, application of imaging methods, surgical applications ( management and administration of animals, monitoring of patiens under anesthesia etc.)
LO-3 Have knowledge in laboratory information and automation systems. PO-2 Interprets vital signs of animals and performs basic first aid in appropriate cases.
PO-9 Provides requested assistance to veterinarian during clinical examination, application of imaging methods, surgical applications ( management and administration of animals, monitoring of patiens under anesthesia etc.)
PO-11 Carries out all kinds of applications planned by the veterinarian.

Course Contents
This course covers basic laboratory rules, employee safety and first aid techniques, working methods in the laboratory, identification, use and maintenance of laboratory equipment, concentration units and solution preparation, use, working principles and maintenance of laboratory equipment, cleaning of laboratories and materials.
