Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to teach epidemic diseases and zoonotic diseases in animals.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Determines the diagnosis and treatment protocols of diseases PO-1 Recognize animal species and breeds, structural and functional (anatomical, histological, physiological and biochemical, etc.) basic features.
PO-2 Interprets vital signs of animals and performs basic first aid in appropriate cases.
PO-12 Recognizes and uses the scientific knowledge.
Examination
LO-2 Lists basic information about chemical and biological substances to be used for prevention and treatment of diseases and their production technologies. PO-1 Recognize animal species and breeds, structural and functional (anatomical, histological, physiological and biochemical, etc.) basic features.
PO-4 Recognizes parasitic infections and assists the veterinarian in further studies (vaccination, hygiene measures, medication etc.) for controlling the patients with models of infectious disease transmission.
PO-11 Carries out all kinds of applications planned by the veterinarian.
PO-12 Recognizes and uses the scientific knowledge.
Examination
LO-3 Makes yield evaluations between animal breeds, repeats the selection, crossbreeding and artificial insemination information at a level that can carry out breeding work when necessary. PO-1 Recognize animal species and breeds, structural and functional (anatomical, histological, physiological and biochemical, etc.) basic features.
PO-12 Recognizes and uses the scientific knowledge.

Course Contents
This course covers the sources of disease, the characteristics of the disease, the transmission and spread of infections, the course and distribution of diseases in animal populations, the fight against epidemic diseases, quarantine, cordon and compensation, notifiable diseases, zoonoses, classification of zoonoses, modes of transmission, control and eradication of diseases.
