Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to determine the position of the veterinary profession from a historical perspective, to recognize, understand and interpret ethical and deontological values, to understand and interpret the veterinary legislation.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Will be able to explain the basic concepts and approaches related to the legislation. Will be able to comprehend the organization in veterinary medicine services. Will be able to distinguish the duties, authorities and responsibilities of veterinarians and allied health personnel in clinical veterinary medicine services. PO-2 Interprets vital signs of animals and performs basic first aid in appropriate cases.
Examination
LO-2 Will be able to distinguish the duties, authorities and responsibilities of veterinarians and allied health personnel in animal breeding. Will be able to distinguish the duties, authorities and responsibilities of veterinarians and allied health personnel in public health and food safety. PO-20 Defines the legislation about the field and follows the updated legislation.
Examination
LO-3 Will be able to solve ethical questions(n) related to allied health personnel in veterinary practice. PO-11 Carries out all kinds of applications planned by the veterinarian.

Course Contents
Contents of this course Sources of the history of veterinary medicine, the birth of ethereal medicine and human-animal relations, the history of scientific veterinary medicine in Turkey, the concepts of ethics and deontology, basic ethical principles, codes and principles, veterinary ethics and ethical decision making process, veterinary medicine treatment Ethical responsibilities at the stage and use of drugs, deontological-ethical problems of pet clinic and farm veterinarians, ethical principles and problems in scientific research, EU veterinary legislation, Turkish Veterinary Legislation and Malpractice and legal responsibility of veterinarians.
