Gain knowledge about a more specific and a rising issue in the world: populism

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can identify the notion of populism PO-3 Has basic information about the main actors of international relations and the rules of the international system.
PO-4 Has a command of the basic concepts in the fields of history, sociology, economics and law at a level to do interdisciplinary work.
PO-7 Has the ability to both interpret events with critical and analytical thinking and to produce solutions to problems with scientific approaches.
Examination
LO-2 can discern the different theories that study the different aspects of populism PO-2 Has sufficient knowledge and awareness about globalization and intercultural communication, human rights, social justice and respect for differences.
PO-3 Has basic information about the main actors of international relations and the rules of the international system.

Course Contents
Throughout this course, basic concepts of political theory such as people, sovereignty, hegemony, polarization, collective identity, representation, liberal democracy, authoritarianism, freedom, equality, early populist movements, classical populism in Latin America, neoliberal populism, Left populism, far right, neo-fascist populism and religious populism will be studied.
