Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to analyze the sociological aspect of communication and its interaction with social structure, institutions and processes.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Culture, sociology, urbanization, media, socialization, education, social change, technology etc. evaluates issues such as social structures and the relations of social structures with actors. PO-1 1. Can understand the basic concepts regarding the sociology programs.
PO-2 2.Can transfer and adapt what they have acquired in the field of Sociology to other disciplines.
Examination
LO-2 Explains, identifies and interprets the basic concepts of communication. PO-3 3. Can develop creative, resourceful in terms of conducting sociological analysis and equipped with the communication and social skills necessary to take part in team work.
PO-4 4. Can have the skills to define, model and solve the sociological problems in the field of Sociology and related fields.
Examination
LO-3 It theoretically deals with the basic knowledge of production and creation processes in the field of communication. PO-6 6. Can assess and evaluate the data making use of the advanced knowledge and skills that they have acquired in the field, to define and analyze the issues connected with current technological developments finding ways to offer solutions to those issues based on the researched and evidence.
PO-8 8. Can collaborate both intra- and interdisciplinarily by planning and managing the activities regarding the development of the members subordinate to them.

Based on the methods and findings of communication sciences and sociology, it aims to analyze the role of the media in terms of shaping communication, explaining cultural transformation and social change.
