Objectives of the Course
Introduction to Architecture is an introductory course for students who are just starting their education in architecture, covering the basic concepts of architecture and the different dimensions and practical areas of the architectural profession. Within the scope of this course, the profession of architecture in history; architectural design thought, architectural design process, studio culture, contemporary architecture, space-human-context relations; fundamentals of structural systems, building design and construction technologies; terms, concepts and approaches in architectural history, architectural and cultural heritage, architectural conservation-urban conservation concepts; Different topics are covered in a wide context, such as the concept of ethics in architecture.

LO-1 Be able to perceive the expansions of the architectural profession. PO-39 Obtains theoretical knowledge about traditional building types and structure, makes structural applications using alternative materials.
PO-40 Gains basic knowledge of traditional and modern materials used in architectural structures.
PO-41 Architectural grouping of buildings; Gain terminological knowledge about the plans and architectural elements of important religious and civil architectural structures.
