Objectives of the Course
o inform prospective teachers about how to teach the basic concepts of geometry and measurement. It aims to develop pre-service teachers in organizing course content for geometry and measurement topics, preparing appropriate teaching materials, and using appropriate teaching strategies. To inform prospective teachers about student difficulties, misconceptions and reasons.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can explain Van Hiele geometric thinking levels. PO-3 Explains the concepts and the relations between concepts related to the field at a level that can meet the needs of the students.
PO-5 Has the knowledge about students’ developmental and learning characteristics and also learning difficulties.

LO-2 Can define and teach basic geometrical concepts, geometric structures and geometric objects. PO-3 Explains the concepts and the relations between concepts related to the field at a level that can meet the needs of the students.
PO-8 Applies the most appropriate teaching strategies, methods and techniques considering students’ developmental characteristics, individual differences, characteristics and achievements of the subject area.

Course Contents
Van Hiele thinking levels; basic geometric concepts, geometric structures, geometric objects; accompaniment and similarity; transformation geometry, projection, patterns and ornaments, fractals; Pythagorean theorem; of measuring teaching nature, time, length, area, volume and angle measurement (organizing the course content, using appropriate teaching materials and strategies, etc.); student knowledge on these topics (concepts understanding and interpreting the student's thoughts on the subject; student difficulties, mistakes, misconceptions and knowing the reasons); The relationship of these subjects with daily life and other lessons
