Objectives of the Course
This course aims to explore the contribution of the concept of gender and the feminist perspective to politics and political studies. One of the aims of the course is to understand how gender and gender inequality shape political institutions, policies and policy processes. At the same time, understanding how states shape gender, the political construction of gender and gender-based social movements are among the objectives of the course.

LO-1 Students who successfully complete the course will be able to grasp the similarities and differences between feminist theories. PO-1 Gain theoretical and practical compelling knowledge in the field of political science, management science, law, urbanization and environmental struggles.
PO-2 Gains the ability to carry and deepen the knowledge gained at undergraduate level in the fields of political science and management, urbanization, environmental problems and law.
PO-3 Explain the interaction between political science, management science, urbanization and environmental problems and law disciplines.
PO-4 Interprets the concepts and approaches learned in the field of political science and management at national and international level, makes and applies comparative and interdisciplinary analysis.

Course Contents
This course provides a foundation for some important issues about gender and politics. This course will discuss why and how politics is gendered. This course will address the current issues and issues about gender, after addressing the main concepts and debates in the field of gender and politics. This course aims to explain the following questions; What is the difference between sex and gender, how can equality between women and men be achieved, why women's participation in political institutions and political life is a remarkable problem, how and why the state can cause a significant change for women. Some of the topics that will be covered during this course are as follows; Feminist theories about the state, gender and its reflections on political behavior, gender and political institutions, representation of women in political life, reflections of gender in the media, and the relationship between gender and migration.
