Objectives of the Course
To explain how biomolecules are used as markers to follow the status of patients in the treatment and diagnosis in medicine as well as to explain the biomarker discovery stages with examples.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can explain the molecular biomarker types. PO-1 Have information about current issues in molecular biology and genetics.

Course Contents
The concept and types of molecular biomarkers, the use of biomarkers in medicine in diagnosis and prognosis, the discovery and identification processes of biomarkers, the functional importance of biomarkers, the importance of omics technologies in biomarker discovery, biomarkers and personalized medicine.
