Objectives of the Course
This course includes basic concepts in immunology, fundamentals of innate and adaptive immunity, mechanisms of action of adaptive immunity, introduction to innate immunity, recognition patterns of innate immunity, complement system, Innate immunity against infections, B and T cell receptors in antigen recognition, antigen-antibody interaction, Antigen-T Cell and MHC relationship, development of lymphocyte antigen receptors, rearrangement of Immunoglobulin genes, rearrangement of T cell receptor genes.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can explain the cells and organs of the immune system, and the mechanisms of action of innate and adaptive immunity. PO-1 Have information about current issues in molecular biology and genetics.
PO-2 Obtain basic knowledge of Molecular Biology
LO-2 Can explain how intracellular and extracellular antigens are processed in different pathways and activate different T cells with class I and class II MHC molecules. PO-1 Have information about current issues in molecular biology and genetics.
PO-2 Obtain basic knowledge of Molecular Biology
Examination
LO-3 Can explain the developmental processes of T and B cells, and the mechanisms of action of cellular and humoral immunity. PO-1 Have information about current issues in molecular biology and genetics.
