Objectives of the Course | |||||
The student will be able to analyze the history of music from the Classical period to the early 20th century from aesthetic, cultural and stylistic perspectives; identify the musical characteristics of the Classical, Romantic and early Modern periods; evaluate the influential composers of these periods in their historical contexts; explain the transformations in musical genres and forms; interpret the stylistic differences between periods and relate the social function of music to historical developments. |

Course Contents | ||
This course covers sections from the lives of contemporary period and composers, presentation of examples of compositions with projection, providing both visual and auditory acquisition, listening to how the composers and their lives progressed with Western Music and their search for new music by including 20th century music, the lives of the Turkish Five and Turkish Composers and their blending with Western Music, listening to their music with projection. | ||
