Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to recognize the basic concepts of scientific research, to comprehend the importance of science and scientific research, to gain knowledge and skills about the steps to be followed in the scientific research process.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can explain the basic concepts of scientific research. PO-3 To be able to use the knowledge gained by following national and international researches and innovations in artificial intelligence technologies in education in professional and academic life with theoretical and practical studies.
PO-5 Has scientific and analytical thinking skills.
PO-6 Conducts scientific studies independently or as a member of a team, using research methods and techniques.
PO-7 Develops and applies data collection tools in scientific research and analyzes the collected data with statistical methods.
PO-8 Evaluates studies on artificial intelligence technologies in education with a critical perspective, taking into account ethical values.

Course Contents
This course covers basic concepts of scientific research, definition of research problem and research questions, characteristics of quantitative and qualitative research, determination of sample, design of data collection tools, validity and reliability of research, experimental designs, relational research, survey research, case study, action research, reporting and scientific ethics.
