Objectives of the Course | |||||
Solving problems and acquiring opportunities in animal breeding and nutrition by providing basic information about farm animal breeding, explaining the differences of conventional and organic breeding. To design transition stages of organic farming, to teach the planning of organic livestock farming. |

PO-6 Consider ecological conditions of each region and implement appropriate production techniques in organic farming. PO-7 Follows the modern agricultural techniques related to the field and puts them into practice. PO-9 Practical applications related to organic agriculture program ability to use the necessary equipment. PO-10 Has knowledge of social responsibility, ethical values and legal bases on issues related to the Organic Agriculture Program. PO-14 Using the basic level of knowledge and skills she/he has acquired, she/he will be able to interpret and evaluate data, identify and analyze problems, and develop solutions based on evidence. PO-15 Identify problems in overall scale, analyze and develop solutions, identify incidents and concepts by using their acquired information. PO-19 Inform the relevant people and institutions on issues related to the field; transfer and share ideas and suggestions for solutions to problems to relevant people. |

Importance of organic livestock farming, the problems of organic farming in Turkey, the place of farm animals in zoological system, cattle, sheep, goat, chicken breeds, feeding, care, selection, breeding, basic nutrients, digestive systems of livestock and nutrients metabolism and general principles of animal feeding, the classification of feed ruminant and poultry feed. | ||
