Objectives of the Course
The main objective of the course is to earn analytical and technical skills used for designation, development and implementation of the production systems with to be a master of production management and production concepts. As a result of the course, students can learn the working principles of the production systems and can use analytical techniques to solve problems of the production systems.

Course Contents
Forecasting and types of forecasting. Forecasting techniques and its classification, quantitative and qualitative techniques of forecasting. Constant processes, quasi constant processes, linear trend processes, seasonal processes. Project management, Project management techniques, CPM, PERT, accelerating projects, time – cost tradeoff, production planning and control, main production planning, aggregate planning, planning strategies, constant workforce strategy, constant production volume strategy, mixed strategy, scheduling, loading, scheduling with parallel 2 and 3 machines, Ergonomics.

1 The concept of forecasting, forecasting types, the classification of forecasting, qualitative and quantitative forecasting techniques, constant processes. verbal lecture
2 Quasi constant processes, simple moving average, weighted moving average and simple exponential smoothing techniques. the performance evaluating of forecasting techniques, performance measures, calculating ME, MSE, MAD, MAPE. verbal lecture
3 Linear trend processes, regression model and parameters, seasonal processes, calculating seasonal factors, calculating deseasoned data and analysis, linear trend processes with seasonality, causal models. verbal lecture
4 Project management and its techniques, drawing project network, activity on node and activity on arrow diagrams, CPM, earliest finishing/starting, latest finishing/starting dates. verbal lecture
5 PERT and parameters, finishing probability of project on time, accelerating projects, time-cost tradeoffs. verbal lecture
