Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to introduce the student to the basic doctrines of traditional Aristotelian logic -- those of terms, propositions and (immediate and mediate) inferences-- and to the basic problems concerning these doctrines.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can recognize the methods and rules in analyzing and testing of propositions and inferences (arguments). PO-5 5. Can dedicate to improve themselves by keeping abreast of the developments in science, technology and modern topics.
PO-6 6. Can assess and evaluate the data making use of the advanced knowledge and skills that they have acquired in the field, to define and analyze the issues connected with current technological developments finding ways to offer solutions to those issues based on the researched and evidence.
PO-8 8. Can collaborate both intra- and interdisciplinarily by planning and managing the activities regarding the development of the members subordinate to them.
PO-9 9. Are able to express themselves in verbal and written communication having the ability to work individually, take initiatives and make their own decisions.

Course Contents
An explanation of the general notion of logic, and detection of the various manifestations of this notion in ordinary language and scientific activity; determination of the topics of study of logic as a normative and formal science; an examination of the kinds and principles of reasoning; determination of the general character and structure of the logic of terms based on Aristotle's Organon; an exposition of the elements and methods of validity test, under the titles of the doctrine of terms, the doctrine of propositions and the doctrine of inferences.
