Objectives of the Course
Teaching the students knowledge of Elementary Japanese Grammar. (Elementary level - first quarter)

Course Contents
To be able to learn Basic Japanese, it requires at least 300 hours of studying, unlike the other foreign languages. In this lesson we will follow elementary Japanese Grammar Book "Minnano Nihongo Shokyu 1" with the units between 1 and 12
Weekly Course Content
Week Subject Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
1 Teaching Japanese Greetings and Japanese Hiragana -Katagana alphabets. Lecturing and having the students practice.
2 1. Unit : Usage of “wa…desu” / “wa…desuka” / “wa….dewa arimasen” / “mo….desu” structures. Lecturing and having the students practice.
3 2. Unit : Usage of demonstratives (part I) and particle “no”. Lecturing and having the students practice.
4 3. Unit : Usage of Usage of demonstratives (part II) and polite form of them. Lecturing and having the students practice.
5 4. Unit : Telling the time, usage of particles “kara” and “made”, present and past forms of verbs in polite( i.e. -masu) form. Lecturing and having the students practice.
6 5. Unit :Usage of particles “e","to” and “de”. Lecturing and having the students practice.
7 6. Unit : Usage of “V-masenka”, “V-masho” and particle “o”. Lecturing and having the students practice.

14 12. Unit : Usage of past - affirmative and negative forms of nouns and adjectives. Usage of ”X wa Y yori…..desu” pattern . Lecturing and having the students practice.
