Objectives of the Course
The regional economics primarily focuses on the locational analysis for production activities, regional economic dynamics, and regional economic development and policy. The topics in urban economics cover the locational analysis for urban business, externalities in cities, and urbanization in developing countries

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Know the causes of regional disparities creates and comments. PO-1 have information about basic economic topics and indicators.

LO-2 Will make an assessment of the income level of regional development policies in Turkey. PO-6 have ability on examining and analyzing the effects of economic policies.

LO-3 Know the difference between the concepts of regionalism and new regionalism is a classic, interpret and evaluate. PO-11 have ability on defining economic variables and comment on the relationships between these variables.

The course generally covers regional development differences and Turkey’s situation, and the policies of Turkey and several countries against regional development differences.
