Objectives of the Course
To understand social science frameworks for scientific social inquiry, To understand the various methods for conducting empirical research, To examine trends and patterns in the use of various research methods, To analyze and evaluate important research terms, concepts, and techniques.

Course Contents
This course offers an overview of the different approaches, considerations and challenges involved in social research. It introduces students to a number of research methods useful for academic and professional investigations. By examining the applications, strengths and major criticisms of methodologies drawn from both the qualitative and quantitative traditions. This course permits an understanding of the various decisions and steps involved in crafting (and executing) a research methodology.
