Objectives of the Course |
This course is designed to teach advanced level macroeconomics, based on Keynesian approach. In this course we focus on the following macroeconomic topics: simple Keynesian (one sector) macro economy and the multiplier process, twosector (goods and financial sectors) macro economy, aggregate demand and aggregate supply, unemployment and Phillips curve, open economy macroeconomics, nominal and real exchange rate, and consumption and investment The theory and actual working of these concepts and designs will be examined in detail. |

Course Contents |
The course begins by introducing students to the subject of macroeconomics, national income accounting. Next, we will study closed economy version of Keynesian macroeconomics under fixed price (ISLM analysis) and variable prices (ADAS analysis). Third, we study labor market and Phillips Curve. Next, we switch to openeconomy version of Keynesian macroeconomics and undertake MundellFleming analysis. Finally, we will look into detail some important macroeconomic variables, namely consumption and investment.
