Objectives of the Course
To transmit knowledge, skills and attitudes to student teacher how to teach social studies, to transmit knowledge, skills and attitudes regarding main teaching strategies, methods and techniques, to transmit knowledge, skills and attitudes concerning social studies programmes, main teaching approaches.

LO-1 PO-1 Being knowledgeable about teaching programs, teaching strategies, methods and techniques, and measurement and evaluation.
PO-3 To satisfy the needs of students ability to recognise concepts and relationship between concepts related to the field.
PO-5 Being knowledgeable about students’ developmental and learning characteristics and also learning difficulties.
PO-8 Ability to use most appropriate teaching strategies, methods and techniques considering students’ developmental characteristics, individual differences, characteristics and achievements of the subject area.

Course Contents
Basic concepts in social studies, relation between these concepts and social studies teaching, general objectives of social studies teaching, techniques-methods-materials used subject areas, examining of concerning curriculum. Evaluation and examining of samples of course, teacher and student text books.
