Objectives of the Course
To comprehend the basic concepts of Turkish folk literature and the works constituting its source with the main lines.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Define the basic concepts of Turkish Folk Literature. PO-10 Knowing works and authors belonging to historical periods of Contemporary Turkic dialects and literatures, and examining, interpreting these texts, and can to discuss by comparing these.
PO-12 Having necessary information, knowledge and sensitivity about subjects with respect to cultural values and folk-literature products, which are possessed by Turkic tribes.
PO-14 Apply the theoretical and practical knowledge that they have gathered in education, training and research to the benefit of the society.
Examination
LO-2 Be able to have information about the basic oral and written sources of folk literature. PO-12 Having necessary information, knowledge and sensitivity about subjects with respect to cultural values and folk-literature products, which are possessed by Turkic tribes.

Course Contents
The basic concepts of Turkish folk literature, the form and content features of Turkish folk poetry, the characteristics and types of old Turkish poetry, the type of minstrel, the types and forms of minstrel literature, personalities and periods will be examined
