Objectives of the Course
The history of the development of folklore in the West and in Turkey, folklore studies in Europe, pioneering research in folklore, and comparative folklore studies and methods with researchers.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 People can grasp the basic concepts of science. PO-12 Having necessary information, knowledge and sensitivity about subjects with respect to cultural values and folk-literature products, which are possessed by Turkic tribes.
PO-14 Apply the theoretical and practical knowledge that they have gathered in education, training and research to the benefit of the society.
PO-17 Make compilations, observations and surveys in their field of study.

General information about folklore. Early folklore theories. Folklore studies in the West and Turkey, text and context-centered folklore theories. Benefiting from folklore of different fields. Comparative folklore studies.
