Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course, which is mandatory for students majoring in International Relations, is to inform them about the basic concepts of political science and politics. In the light of this information, students will be able to better comprehend the political issues they encounter in daily life and will be able to comment on these issues in an informed way.

LO-1 Main concepts can be argued PO-1 To be able to explain the concepts/theories of International Relations.
PO-2 To be able to discuss the political, social and economic causes and results of the transformations experienced in a society or a government.

PO-8 To be able to share their field thoughts with experts and non-experts on the responsibilities for the environment they live in and organize projects/activities accordingly.

Definition of politics and political science, basic political concepts such as state, democracy, constitution, legitimacy, sovereignty, characteristics of different political systems, political forces such as political parties, pressure groups and public opinion, different electoral systems, individual participation in politics and characteristics of global politics
