Objectives of the Course
This course inquires the process of Turkey’s integration into the EU. It looks at historical, political, cultural, economic and social dimensions of Turkey-EU relations. By doing so, the course will explore possibilities and limitations for a comprehensive integration.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can develop analytical ability to understand historical, institutional and legal evolution of Turkey-EU relations. PO-5 Have sufficient knowledge about national/international financial markets and institutions and can follow the changes and innovations in these areas.
PO-16 Have the theoretical and practical level of knowledge necessary to analyze how decision units, consumers, and companies in an economy make decisions and how they affect each other in the market.
Examination
LO-2 Can analyze the problems which appear in the relations between Turkey and the EU. PO-5 Have sufficient knowledge about national/international financial markets and institutions and can follow the changes and innovations in these areas.
PO-12 Understand and comprehend market research, information systems, consumer behaviors, strategic marketing, global markets, product and service strategies, product life curve, pricing and supply chain in the points of providing continuity of businesses in the process of globalization.

Course Contents
The course first seeks to provide understanding of ideational and historical processes that led to the evolution of European Union as a particular model for integration. Secondly, it inquires general policies of the institutions and common properties of the legal system operating in the EU. Thirdly, students will be encouraged to discuss common contemporary challenges to full EU integration, like “European Constitution,” “European Identity,” “European Culture,” “European Citizenship.” With these conceptual and civic discussions, the course offers intellectual assessment on political, economic and social implications of Turkey’s integration into the EU.
