Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to introduce through examples the Greek and Roman mythology which is among the most essential topics to the works of art.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can explain the Myths in the world cultures and describe the differences of the Greek Myths with the other PO-14 To be able to comprehend within a totality the historical environment in its broadest sense.
PO-17 Acquairing sensitivities in the context of universal morality, aesthetics and philosophy of art related to human nature
Examination
LO-2 Can specify the heroes in the Greek and Roman myths and interpret their echo in the works of art. PO-2 Acquiring ability on data collection, analyzing, interpreting, discussing and proposing about the issues of the History of Art.

LO-3 Can interpret the use of the episodes and heroes of the Greek and Roman Mythology in various fields of the contemporary art. PO-14 To be able to comprehend within a totality the historical environment in its broadest sense.

Course Contents
The description of the world mythologies and the Greek mythology. The meaning of the Greek mythology its authors, the creation of the universe, the creation of the human and the Olympian Gods. Regional heroes in the Greek and Roman myths; secondary and tertiary heroes. The approach to the Greek and Roman mythology in the works of art. Examples of the Greek and Roman mythology in the art of the Greek and Roman Antiquity, in the Middle Ages and contemporary period.
