Objectives of the Course
To learn the nature of science; to trace the evolution of science from the early ages to the day-to-day, to understand what factors influenced scientific thinking.

LO-1 Understand the general characteristics of scientific knowledge. PO-6 Approaching in a philosophical fashion to problems in fields such as science, art and culture, and identifying such problems.
PO-7 Making use of interdisciplinary knowledge in the examination of universal and local problems in science, religion and art.
PO-9 Communicating, through writing and speech, knowledge obtained, and suggestions made as to how to resolve confronted problems in a systematic and coherent way.

Course Contents
Development process of scientific knowledge. By taking advantage of historical information, the interrelationships between the emergence and spread of scientific theories at various periods, thought forms of scholars, science with other philosophical activities such as philosophy, religion and art. The stages and difficulties that science has contributed to the life of scientists who have contributed to knowledge.
