Objectives of the Course
.The aim of this course is to provide students with general information about the main lines of computerized map design. The course focuses on mapping and analyzing maps using computers. Geographic information encoding, storing and presenting. Accessing spatial data via internet. Map data structures and their transformation, design and programming issues in map making.

LO-1 PO-1 Cografya biliminde kuramsal ve uygulamali bilgilere sahip olma
PO-3 Cografya bilimi kapsaminda mekani dogal ve beseri özellikleriyle tanima, mekanin kullanimindan kaynaklanan sorunlari tespit edebilme, çözüm önerisi sunabilme.
PO-4 Insan-mekan etkilesiminin tespitinde yararlanilan baslica arastirma yontem ve tekniklerini kullanabilme, bu etkilesimin ifadesinde kullanilan gorsel araclari (tablo, grafik, harita) vb hazirlayabilme ve gerekli arac gerecleri yazilimlari kullabilme
PO-5 Cografi Bilgi Sistemleri, uzaktan algilama vb cografi teknolojilerle çalisabilme.
PO-9 Cografil verilerin toplanmasi, yorumlanmasi, degerlendirilmesi ve akademik yayin haline getirilmesi sürecinde bilimsel etik degerlere uygun hareket etme.
PO-2 Cografya biliminin temel terimlerini kavrama ve cografi terminolojiyi yerinde kullanabilme.

LO-2 PO-5 Cografi Bilgi Sistemleri, uzaktan algilama vb cografi teknolojilerle çalisabilme.
PO-6 Disiplinler arasindaki çalismalarin önemini kavrama, bilgi ve becerilerini diger disiplinlerle paylasabilme ve ortak projelerde degerlendirebilme.
PO-8 Sahip oldugu bilgi ve becerileri laboratuvar ve arazi çalismalari ile bütünlestirebilme

A brief history of computerized cartography, Fundamentals of cartographic design, Digital map symbology, Digital Map Typography, Types of thematic maps, Color-Use Guidelines, Mapping of three-dimensional data, Digital graphics, Map databases, Motion cartography, Interactive cartography, Digital atlases, Satellite imagery and aerial photography, geographical visualization
