Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable the student to understand the importance of conservation of nature and to understand the reasons of protected nature, to learn the status of protected areas in the world and Turkey, to have knowledge about the European Landscape Convention and to learn protected area planning and management principles.

Definition of Nature Conservation and Related Concepts The importance of nature conservation, the importance of conservation of species and habitat Biological diversity and historical development of nature conservation in our country, Nature conservation in Turkey and nature park conservation grounds, Classification of protected areas, Classification criterion of protected areas, Land study in the scope of international conventions Nature Preservation Organizations.
