Objectives of the Course
Sports biochemistry; aims at forming a base in explaining cell process related to base motor characteristics in sports movements, like speed, strenght and endurance. The scope of this course will include enzymatic control mechanisms of energy production, energy metabolism, and biochemical adaptations in ultra structure of muscle fiber in response to acute and chronic exercise.

LO-1 To be able to know the biochemical processes related to muscle contraction. PO-1 Sport Sciences, Advanced Coaching, Conditioning and Performance Analysis fields, as well as taking into consideration the reflection in the application..

LO-2 To be able to distinguish the metabolic pathways and properties involved in the resynthesis of ATP during exercise according to the types of exercise. Course Contents
This course includes interpreting characteristics of metabolic pathways of ATP resynthesis inside muscle cell and metabolic pathways? biochemical responses to acute and chronic exercise, as well as ultra structure of skeletal muscle and biochemical characteristics of energy producing muscle fibers during diffrent exercise intesities.
