Objectives of the Course

To look to into terms and definitions related to violence, effects of violence on child development, child abuse and neglect, different types of child abuse and neglect, interventions to prevent child abuse, factors related to abuse, role of a teacher in identifying abuse and guiding cases to some governmental institutions.

Description of violence, types of violence, description of child abuse and neglect, types of child abuse and neglect, short term and long term effects of child abuse and neglect, theories about child abuse and neglect, characteristics of abused and neglected child, characteristics of abuser, significant persons in identifying abuse, institutions and organizations related to child abuse, approaches to prevent child abuse in Turkey and world
