It is aimed to increase the knowledge and skills of special education teacher candidates about the development of social adaptation skills of students with special education needs.

Course Contents
Basic concepts, basic skills, adaptability skills and social adaptation skills; social skills definition, basic skills, social skills and practical skills; evaluation of basic skills and teaching: functional literacy, numbers, money, time to know; special training needs development of social skills in individuals; social and emotional intelligence in individuals with special educational needs; social skills; social skills in daily and business life, social cohesion importance in the process; evaluation and teaching of social skills: interpersonal relations, social responsibility, self-confidence, social problem solving, obeying rules; evaluation of practical skills and teaching: daily life-self-care skills; students with special educational needs to decide if it is appropriate to acquire adaptability skills; social cohesion skills preparing assessment tools for gaining; teaching environments and methods; teaching offer; ensuring continuity and generalization of skills acquired.
