Objectives of the Course
Comprehending the scope, subject, method and basic principles of comparative epic studies, having knowledge about the relationship between epics and written literature.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Comprehend the Turkish belief and thought system and bring solutions to today's social problems. PO-2 Students will learn the basic theories and applications of folklore.
PO-7 They produce knowledge about society and use the information they produce in solving economic, social and technological problems.
PO-10 They can reach scientific results that can bring innovation to Turkish Folklore discipline through original academic studies.
Examination
LO-2 Explain the behavior of today's society. PO-6 They have a high level of knowledge about theories and methods in the field of Turkish folklore. They can approach problems in this field in a methodological and analytical way and offer solutions.
PO-7 They produce knowledge about society and use the information they produce in solving economic, social and technological problems.
PO-8 They will be able to analyze the basic elements of culture and to take an active role in the protection of the information channels that protect the identity of the society through their inferences.
PO-9 They will be able to use intercultural communication, gaining the necessary equipment to perceive and interpret different cultures.

The scope, subject, methods and principles of comparative epic studies, the relation between epics and written literature, thematic features of epics, the structural features of epics, the functional features of epics, epic multi-media relation.
