Objectives of the Course
To have knowledge about cultural policy and dynamics at institutional (micro) and national (macro) level.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Have knowledge about cultural policy and dynamics at institutional (micro) and national (macro) level. PO-4 Uses research methods and techniques applied in the field and has theoretical and practical knowledge.
PO-7 Carries out a study that requires expertise related to the field independently.
PO-14 Collects, interprets, applies and announces the data related to his / her field and observes the scientific, cultural, artistic, social and ethical values and explains these values.

LO-2 Discuss the interventions of public, private and civilian players in the context of cultural policies. PO-6 Uses the knowledge gained in the field of expertise at the level of raising the level of education, culture and art of society.
PO-11 Supports the current developments and projects carried out in the field with quantitative and qualitative data and conveys them to groups outside and outside the field with appropriate communication tools.
Examination
LO-3 Today, they can evaluate and discuss the basic changes in cultural policies. PO-2 Comprehends the interdisciplinary interaction related to the field and carries out joint studies with different disciplines.
PO-9 Leadership in solving problems related to the field; organizes personal, corporate and team work at the level of expertise.

Course Contents
In addition to how art and culture relate to politics, this course introduces students to the basic debates in arts and culture policies. Topics will primarily focus on the theoretical debates of the relationship between art and politics, aesthetics and poltica. Then in different countries and applications; how the fields of art and culture are governed politically. Should culture be a part of public governance? In the Republican Period in the final part of the course an analytical assessment of culture and arts policy in Turkey will be made.
