Objectives of the Course
The objective of the course is to shed a strong light on the concept of human rights; to call the participants attention to human rights as ethical principles and as basic premises for the deduction of law, as well as to discuss certain of the consequences of this approach for the protection of human rights.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 acquire knowledge of the concept of human rights, 2. become able to justify the necessity to protect human rights 3. become able to see how concepts like "the value of the human being" and "human dignity" consititute the base of human rights 4. become able to see the consequences of human rights as ethical principles PO-8 Gain the consciousness of adopting ethical values as basic values in every stage of life and especially in professional life,
PO-9 Have the consciousness of lifelong learning.
Examination
LO-2 learn what it means that human rights should constitute the premises in the deduction of law and the foundations of the State .put in connection laïcité with the protection of human rights distinguish between human rights norms and cultural norms know the different ways of protecting different kinds of rights PO-8 Gain the consciousness of adopting ethical values as basic values in every stage of life and especially in professional life,
PO-9 Have the consciousness of lifelong learning.
Examination
LO-3 have reflected on the wide-spread understanding of the freedom of thought from the viewpoint of its consequence for practice become able to see the difference between human rights and collective rights, and have reflected on the practical consequences of knowing this difference PO-8 Gain the consciousness of adopting ethical values as basic values in every stage of life and especially in professional life,

Course Contents
The course will deal with the concept and classifications of human rights, will focus on the conceptual content of rights and freedoms and discuss the specificity of these concepts as criteria.
